A Huge Thank You!

It all began decades ago in my home kitchen to satisfy my young daughters’ ‘cookie fix’. Now five years later, so many people get to enjoy my all-natural shortbread cookies. Thanks to all our customers and partners who have supported us in our journey to grow Finn’s Finest Cookies and to keep creating smiles with every cookie!

The Journey

As all entrepreneurs know, building a business has peaks and challenges.  It’s part of the journey. Finn’s journey started five years ago as I attended farmer’s markets in Phoenix Uptown Market then expanding into Carefree, High Street, Old Town Scottsdale, Fountain Hills, North Scottsdale, etc.

Then 2020 happened.  COVID-19 followed by lingering supply chain issues.

One thing that didn’t change was our loyal customers. So, we dedicated 2020 to investing in rebranding efforts developing Finn’s new logo, packaging, website and social media. We also added wholesale accounts to our direct -to -consumer sales.  You can now find Finn’s Finest Cookies in boutique resorts (Hermosa Inn), retail food and gift shops (Why Hello Modern Home, GiftGal, Lil’ Town Butcher Shop), and Peet’s coffee shop at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport.

Made with Real Butter...No Seed Oils

A growing number of people having been asking me, “Do you use seed oils in your cookies?” My response is "No, just real butter."

So, I did a bit of investigating on what are main seed oils for my cookie lovers. According to Catherine Shanahan, MD, best known as Dr. Cate and author of The Fatburn Fix and Deep Nutrition, these are the most widely used unhealthy fats:

· Canola oil

· Corn oil

· Cottonseed oil

· Grapeseed oil

· Rice bran oil

· Safflower oil

· Soy oil

· Sunflower oil

Finn’s Finest Cookies are made with only natural ingredients. No preservatives or additives to interfere with the pure creamy, rich taste of our gourmet cookies. Our first ingredient is AA butter which we only use in our shortbread cookies.

I am so excited to share with you my journey...any cookies. Yes, almost 30 years ago, I was passionate about finding a cookie treat for my toddlers. I would examine the cookie labels at the store and realize those cookies weren’t right for my daughters. I decided I could make a better cookie! So, I thought about the flavors and characteristics of a perfect cookie for a child. To me, it was important that my child wouldn’t choke on the cookie. As a new mom, I would always chop up food so my children wouldn’t choke. As for the flavor, I didn’t want anything too sweet but wanted a very pleasant taste and smell. What could be better than a crisp vanilla cookie?

Then came the experimenting of flavors and ways to create an air and crispy cookies. As an engineer, I was in my element. There were several tries before I was onto a good balance of ingredients. I continued to tweak the recipe until it was right. Voila! Next it was onto the sampling phase…the kids couldn’t get enough.
